In a crowded room with influential and important colleagues staring you right in the face, you explained the specific suggestion that was so intricate, so pivotal and consequential in your pursuit of the “perfect solution,” that you miss the mark altogether.

Maybe you were nervous.

Maybe you were flustered.

Maybe you were unprepared.

Maybe you were vague.

Maybe you were rushed.

Maybe you were deaf on what other people were trying to glean from your suggestions.

But whatever the case, you floundered awkwardly with no backup and no support.

Join the party.

Initial Jolt

Even in our best time when we think that nothing can slow us down, suddenly, like a setback without any warning whatsoever, it is that gut feeling that something was definitely askew in our assessment of this situation.

However, it is what we do after the initial jolt of the situation that defines if we are a leader. With this in mind,

  • Do we scurry away or take the criticism with professionalism and chivalry?
  • Do we immediately change your argument almost instantaneously or fight for our rights, so to speak?
  • Do we shun all combatants with ignorance and arrogance of this point or listen to other opinions with understanding and responsiveness?

Tough outlooks… honest results.
